CASPER, Wyo. — High winds caused a sheet metal barn at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds to “lift up and move” Sunday afternoon, county commissioner and fair board liaison Jim Milne told Oil City News.

After speaking with fair board director Tom Jones, who was on the site, Milne said there was only one injury reported to the 21 horses that were in the barn. That horse had endured a cut to the knee, but is expected to be able to recover fully.

“We’re all real lucky,” Milne said.

The barn itself is a complete loss after being lifted and flipped against a power pole along the north fence line along West 13th Street, Milne said. Wind-scattered debris in the roadway closed 13th Street from Coulter Drive to Wyoming Boulevard.
